The javelin withdrawal aims to move the throwing hand as far away from the blocking leg as possible, to create the longest possible pull on the javelin. Students will learn to perform the withdrawal into the cross-over step which they will apply to their standing throw to complete the full javelin throw.

At
Athletics Lesson: Creating an Arch
An arch in the high jump allows the centre of mass to travel under the bar, allowing for a few extra centimetres to be achieved in the jump. Students will develop their curve running skills and their spatial awareness during the takeoff, which will enable them to perform an effective Fosbury Flop high jump technique.
