Lesson Overview

Shooting on the move allows players to have a variety of shooting options and techniques, and allows for quick and accurate shots on goal. Students will learn to use the running forehand and backhand and practice scoring on the move from inside the D.

Hockey Lesson: Defending Lifted Balls

Lifted balls in field hockey refer to when a player intentionally raises the ball off the ground using their stick to dribble past a defender. Students will learn to defend against lifted balls and to stop attackers from dribbling into the D to create scoring chances.
