Lesson Overview

The aerial pass allows players to quickly and accurately move the ball over long distances, bypassing opponents and creating scoring opportunities. Students will learn to perform the aerial pass and will practice passing over long distances.

Lifted balls in field hockey refer to when a player intentionally raises the ball off the ground using their stick to dribble past a defender. Students will learn to defend against lifted balls and to stop attackers from dribbling into the D to create scoring chances.
