Lesson Overview

The split press allows the defending team to control the attack by trapping the ball on the right hand side of the pitch where attackers will be playing on their weaker side. Students will be introduced to the 4-3-3 formation and how to perform the split press defensive strategy.

Bouncing balls are difficult to control making receiving bouncing balls an important skill to master because it allows players to quickly take control of the ball and continue the flow of the game. Students will practice receiving bouncing balls and progress to receiving aerial passes to further their receiving skills.
