Hockey Lesson: The V-Drag

Lesson Overview

The V-drag allows players to quickly change direction when dribbling in order to evade defenders or to pass to a teammate. Students will be introduced to the V-drag technique and have the opportunity to practice the skill in a game scenario.

Hockey Lesson: Defending Lifted Balls

Lifted balls in field hockey refer to when a player intentionally raises the ball off the ground using their stick to dribble past a defender. Students will learn to defend against lifted balls and to stop attackers from dribbling into the D to create scoring chances.
