Emma is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education Athletics Birmingham Newman University, UK.
Her research focuses on increasing Physical Activity time within Physical Education lessons and has led to the development of the SHARP principles which have facilitated an increase in classroom active time up to 75%.
Emma also has a specialism in children's physical activity for students with cystic fibrosis, giving her unique insights into inclusivity in sport.
Throughout this podcast, we discuss the strategies for inclusivity in physical education and we talk through the SHARP principles for increasing student engagement.

Martin Brockman is Director of Brockman Athletics, providing teacher training and track and field teaching resources for schools around the world. Representing Great Britain in the decathlon for almost a decade, Martin achieved a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Dehli, 2010. On retiring from his international career, he moved to the world-leading Aspire Academy in Qatar as the Head of Athlete Development where he designed and implemented the academy athletics program from talent identification through to international athletics.
